RAZE BAND!!

The Interview!!

By Claudia Soto

08/11/2026

RAZE is a new all-female metalcore band from Thailand that began its journey in 2026, making its entrance into the Thai music scene with a sound characterized by powerful guitar riffs, intense vocals, and a compelling combination of aggression and melody.

The project was created and produced by Ebbie Yananda, guitarist of Midnight Cereal, together with Thanajed Winaigonpong, associated with Tragedy Of Murder and Headbangkok.

The lineup consists of Murlyn (clean vocals), Yoko (harsh vocals), Jenna (guitar), Kewlin (guitar), and Hannah (drums). Together, they build a musical identity that brings together different influences and styles, resulting in a dynamic, intense sound with a personality of its own.

In June 2026, RAZE released their debut single, «จำนน (Break Me)», a composition that explores toxic relationships, emotional control, and the difficulty of letting go of someone who causes suffering. Later, they continued to establish their musical identity with «ทิ้งไว้กับฉัน (UNFADING)», released in October of the same year, tells the story of growing coldness that slowly creates distance in a relationship. When patience and effort finally hit a dead end, the pain that builds up becomes the "final straw"—leaving wounds that are hard to heal.

The name RAZE evokes concepts of destruction and demolition, a choice that reflects both the intensity of their music and their determination to constantly evolve and push beyond their own limits.

With an all-female lineup and an energy that seeks to make its mark on the contemporary metal scene, RAZE represents a new generation of Thai bands determined to take their music beyond their borders.

Thank very much for this interview RAZE member´s

Who makes up RAZE band, and what position or instrument does each member handle within the band?

Raze:

RAZE is a five-piece all-female metal lineup:

Murlyn – Lead Vocals (Clean)

Yoko – Vocals / Co-front (Harsh)

Jenna – Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Kewlin – Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Hannah – Drums

RAZE was founded and is produced by Ebbie Yananda.

When you first formed RAZE, which bands or genres served as your principal inspiration to shape your sound and essence?

Raze:

When RAZE came together, our shared goal was to bridge the heavy precision of modern Metal genre, We try to be wide with our style, not stuck in 1 Type of Metal style

Some of the biggest influences shaping our DNA include:

Modern Metalcore, Post-Hardcore & NU Metal : Bands like Architects, Spiritbox, and Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, Linkin Park for heavy, low-tuned riffs, massive atmospheric synths, and aggressive structural shifts.

For those discovering you for the first time, how would you describe the essence and energy of RAZE's sound in your own words?

Raze:

We’d describe our sound as a balance of contrasts: emotional melodies and raw human vulnerability.

It’s heavy, down-tuned riffage and crushing drum grooves grounded by twin vocal dynamics that cut straight through the mix. We blend tight, atmospheric synth layers to create a soundscape that feels both massive and deeply personal.

The metal scene in Southeast Asia has been growing rapidly. How do you see the metalcore scene in Thailand right now, and what role does RAZE play in it?

Raze:

The heavy music scene across Southeast Asia and Thailand specifically is experiencing an incredible wave of talent, production quality, and dedicated fans. Local bands are dropping world-class records and the community is hungrier than ever.

We see RAZE as bridge builders in this scene. By combining heavy modern metalcore elements with accessible, emotionally driven hooks and presenting it through a fresh, female-led lineup we want to show that heavy music here has no limits. We’re pushing to represent modern Thai heavy music globally and inspire more people to get into heavy music.

You've released two strong singles this year—“จำนน (Break Me)” and “ทิ้งไว้กับฉัน (UNFADING)”. What do these tracks represent for the band, and how has the reception been so far?

Raze:

(Break Me)” was our opening statement to the world. It was designed to establish our identity straight out of the gate: aggressive low-end riffs, relentless drums, and raw vocal emotion. Hitting over 50,000 views on the music video right away was a huge validation that people were ready for RAZE.

(UNFADING)” represents our growth into deeper emotional dynamics and texture. It balances heavy, atmospheric weight with a memorable melodic hook that sticks with you.

The reception both locally and internationally has been overwhelming. Seeing listeners from all over the world connect with our music even across language barriers proves that heavy riffs and honest emotion are a universal language.

When it comes to writing new music, what does your creative process usually look like? Do you start with the riffs, the lyrics, or the overall structure?

Raze:

Our songs usually take shape starting from a rhythmic and sonic foundation:

The Hook or Riff: A track usually begins with a guitar riff, or Murlyn sending the demo, or even our Producer already has some demos he prepared. And after that we work it together, since we are an independent band, we only work everything in our producer’s apartment, he is the one who records, mixes and masters the songs by himself, we don’t want limitations to make us stop to start a thing.

Your songs carry a lot of intensity. What themes or personal experiences inspire your lyrics and overall message?

Raze:

Our lyrics focus heavily on internal conflict, resilience, processing pain, and breaking free from emotional confinement.

Whether we’re talking about the weight of expectations, betrayal, or fighting through tough personal times, our goal isn't just to vent anger, it's to turn that tension into catharsis. Heavy music is one of the best outlets for letting go of what you carry inside, and we want every track to give our listeners that exact sense of release.

Looking ahead, are you currently working toward a full-length album or EP, and what are your main goals and upcoming plans for the band?

Raze:

Right now, we’re focused on building up a strong body of work and stacking new material as we head toward an EP release.

Our main goals ahead include:

Continuing to release singles

Expanding our Audience domestically and internationally

Preparing and keep rehearsing for our live show so we can take the stage and bring the exact same massive, polished energy you hear on the records straight to the crowd.

What message would you like to share with the readers and fans supporting you from around the world?

Raze:

To every single person who has streamed "Break Me" or "UNFADING," watched our videos, picked up merchandise, or shared our posts: thank you so much!

Launching this band and seeing it resonate with people across the globe means the world to us. Heavy music brings people together no matter where they are from, and this is only the beginning for RAZE. Stay tuned, keep supporting heavy music, and we can't wait to show you what we have coming next!

Anything I forgot to ask you, or anything else you would like to add or tell us?

RAZE BAND!!

La Entrevista!!

Por Claudia Soto

08/11/2026

Murlyn – Voz principal (voz limpia)
