SynlakrosS is a Spanish band led by a woman who plays a base of Melodic Death Metal with influences from alternative metal, nu metal and metalcore. With their music and thematic lyrics they inject a good dose of energy and transport your mind to a world of adventures with good doses of rebellion. Sharp riffs and powerful rhythms accompany a female voice with soft melodies and crazy screams that will caress and shake your eardrum in equal parts.
Their influences are bands like In Flames, The Gazette, Korn, Slipknot, Dir En Grey, Lamb of God, among others.
SynlakrosS released their new album 'Mental Parasites', this October 3, 2024. In addition to being in preparation for their next tour in which they already have dates in Spain and Portugal!

Patricia:
Thank you, it's a pleasure.
How are you? How is the start of this year 2025?
Patricia:
A bit complicated - On October 29th a flood wreaked havoc on a good part of Valencia and we are trying to recover from it little by little.
Our rehearsal room was flooded and we lost almost all the equipment and most of the instruments were damaged.
How would you describe the musical style and what elements make this new Mental Parasites album unique?
Patricia:
For me it is the most personal album we have made to date due to the lyrics, where I have added personal experiences, both mine and those of people I know.
I think it is our best work to date. The songs are more powerful and solid than ever. Without any fear of experimenting or exploring new things.
Where do the ideas for the lyrics come from and what themes do you explore in them?
Patricia:
It is an album inspired by mental and personality disorders, where there is room for criticism but also for humor with a burlesque touch.
As I said, I have been inspired by both personal experiences and people I know.
How was the composition process and how did the band members collaborate?
Patricia:
Pablo (Roronoa) is the main composer. He teaches us his ideas and then each one contributes something, in my case voice and lyrics, and my colleagues from guitar solos, arrangements or drum rhythms.
How are the reviews of your new album?
Patricia:
They are being super positive! We are very happy and grateful.
Patricia Pons What is your favourite song from this new album?
Patricia:
It's very difficult for me to choose, it changes, but for the moment I'm going to say Popcorn
Patricia, do you have any participation or project with other bands or any surprises outside the band?
Patricia:
I'm slowly working on a parallel electronic music project, with a touch of trap and weird things in which there will be growls too hehehe.
But it's something secondary, I don't know when it will see the light. I don't have much time to dedicate to it.
Patricia, what message do you have for your fans?
Patricia:
Thank you so much for your affection and support. We have the best fans in the world! Thanks to them we can keep going and keep growing.
What plans does the band have for the near future and 2025 and what surprises can we expect from SynlakrosS?
Patricia:
At the moment, unfortunately we are a bit stopped by the circumstances, but we hope to be able to announce new things soon.
Are you working on new material like a new video or do you have any special projects in the works?
Patricia:
Yes, we want to keep releasing videos and something else, but it's too early to announce anything.
Tours in 2025 soon?
Patricia:
We had to cancel the plans we had for this spring. For now we'll do a couple of dates at the end of June
How do you see the melodic metal scene and what do you think the future holds for it in various parts of the world?
Patricia:
That like everything, it will have to evolve and adapt to the new times.
What advice would you give to other bands that are just starting out and looking for their place in the metal scene?
Patricia:
That you have to work very hard, and not just on your voice or instruments, there are many different tasks that an independent band has to do, but you should never give up. And above all, remember that we make music because it is something that we as musicians need to do, like breathing, so you should never forget to enjoy it.

Gracias, es un placer.
¿Cómo han estado? ¿Qué tal el inicio de este año 2025?
Patricia:
Un poco complicado- El pasado 29 de Octubre una inundación hizo estragos en buena parte de Valencia y estamos intentando reponernos de ello poco a poco.
Nuestro local de ensayo se inundo y hemos perdido casi todo el equipo y la mayoría de instrumentos quedaron dañados.
¿Cómo describirían el estilo musical y qué elementos hacen único a este nuevo álbum de Mental Parasites?
Patricia:
Para mi es el álbum más personal que hemos hecho hasta la fecha debido a las letras, donde he añadido experiencias personales, tanto mías como de gente que conozco.
Creo que es nuestro mejor trabajo hasta la fecha. Las canciones son más cañeras y solidas que nunca. Sin miedo ninguno a experimentar o explorar cosas nuevas.
¿De dónde surgen las ideas para las letras y qué temas exploran en ellas?
Patricia:
Es un álbum inspirado en los trastornos mentales y de personalidad, donde hay espacio para la crítica, pero también para el humor con un toque burlesco.
Como decía, me he inspirado tanto en experiencias personales, como en la gente que conozco.
¿Cómo estuvo el proceso de composición y cómo colaboraron entre los miembros de la banda?
Patricia:
Pablo (Roronoa) es el compositor principal. Él nos enseña sus ideas y luego cada uno aporta algo, en mi caso voz y letras, y mis compañeros desde solos de guitarra, arreglos o ritmos de batería.
¿Qué tal las reseñas de su nuevo álbum?
Patricia:
¡Están siendo súper positivas! Estamos muy contentos y agradecidos.
Patricia Pons ¿Cuál es la canción favorita de este nuevo álbum?
Patricia:
Se me hace muy difícil elegir, además va cambiado, pero por el momento voy a decir Popcorn
¿Patricia tienes alguna participación o proyecto con otras bandas o alguna sorpresa ajena a la banda?
Patricia:
Estoy trabajando poco a poco en un proyecto paralelo de música electrónica, con toque trap y cosas raras en el que habrá guturales también jejeje.
Pero es algo secundario, no sé cuándo verá la luz. No tengo mucho tiempo para dedicarle.
¿Patricia, que mensaje les dices a tus fans?
Patricia:
Que muchísimas gracias por su afecto y apoyo. Tenemos los mejores fans del mundo! Gracias a ellos podemos seguir adelante y seguir creciendo.
¿Qué planes tiene la banda para el futuro cercano e este 2025 y qué sorpresas podemos esperar de SynlakrosS?
Patricia:
De momento, lamentablemente estamos un poco parados por las circunstancias, pero esperamos poder anunciar nuevas cosas pronto.
¿Están trabajando en nuevo material como un nuevo video o tienen proyectos especiales en marcha?
Patricia:
Sí, queremos seguir lanzado videos y alguna cosa más, pero es pronto para anunciar nada.
¿Tours en este 2025 pronto?
Patricia:
Tuvimos que cancelar los planes que teníamos para esta primavera. De momento haremos un par de fechas a finales de junio
¿Cómo ven la escena del melodic metal y qué creen que le depara el futuro en varias partes del mundo?
Patricia:
Que, como todo, tendrá que evolucionar y adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos.
¿Qué consejo les darían a otras bandas que están empezando y buscan su lugar en la escena del metal?
Patricia:
Que hay que trabajar mucho y muy duro, y no solo en la voz o instrumentos, son muchas tareas diferentes las que una banda independiente tiene que realizar, pero nunca hay que rendirse. Y sobre todo, recordar que hacemos música porque es algo que como músicos necesitamos hacer, como respirar, así que nunca hay que olvidarse de disfrutar con ello,
