今回は、日本のメロディック・パワー/ヘビーメタルバンドにインタビューする素晴らしい機会を得ました！RED HEELSは、Freya（ボーカル/アーティスト/ダンサー）とMasaki（ギター/デザイン/作曲）からなるデュオです！
面接に行ってみましょう！
この度はインタビューをいただき、誠にありがとうございます！まずはFreyaさんとMasakiさん、ご自身について少しお聞かせいただけますか？
Freya:
元々航空業界で働いていたのですが、日本で大きな地震があった時に人生の観念が変わり、何が起きるかわからないから、悔いのない人生のためにやりたい事をやろうと決意し、若い頃に諦めてしまったダンサーの夢にそこから再挑戦しました。ダンスボーカルを経て現在はメタルボーカルをしています。
Masaki:
学生の頃にPENICILLINのギタリスト、千聖（Chisato）さんに憧れてギターを始めました。
今でもずっと憧れのギタリストで、憧れのギタリストが現在も活動を絶えず続けている事が何よりも自分の活動の原動力になっています。
最初はダンスデジロックとして2019年に結成され、それ以来、1stシングル「Decision」、2ndシングル「Set Me Free」、3rdシングル「CAT'S EYE」カバー、4thシングル「Fly Away」、そしてソロ曲「生きるひかり」など、数々のシングルをリリースしてきました。 ヘヴィメタル／パワーメタルへと音楽的に進化してきた経緯を教えてください。
Freya:
ダンスボーカルをしている時に、周りの方もファンの方も「姉さん」って頼ってくれる事が多くて、キャラ的にもステージでももっと強いパワーを出しても良いのかなと思っていた頃に、ちょうどメタル楽曲の提供を頂き、そのタイミングで元々好きだったメタル転向を意識しました。

現在2人中心に活動しています！
2025年1月にリリースされた新作EP『α』の反響はいかがですか？
Red Heels:
音楽流通が配信が主流になりつつある中で、
多くの方に、また海外の方も多くCDを購入して頂き驚きました。
会場でも複数枚購入してくださる方もいて、
私たちの音楽を受け入れて頂き、応援してくださる事に感謝しています。
お二人ともフルアルバムのリリースは考えていますか？もし制作中なら、このニューアルバムに『α』も収録されるのでしょうか？
Red Heels:
目標にしています。 時期はまだ正確には発表できませんが、
少しずつ楽曲を世に出せたらと思っています。
日本での新しい日程やライブパフォーマンスはありますか？
Red Heels:
7/19（土）に吉祥寺CRESCENEDOで
RED HEELS 1st Anniversary
〜Beginning of Antares〜
を開催します。一周年記念LIVEとなります。
この日はサポートメンバーにも入って頂き特別なバンド体制でお届けします。
月に2〜5本くらい都内中心にLIVEをしていますので、オフィシャルのSNSなどで確認してくれたら嬉しいです。

こちらもまだ正式に発表出来ませんが、

This time we had the great opportunity to interview a Japanese melodic heavy metal band! RED HEELS is a duo consisting of Freya (vocals, artist, and dancer) and Masaki (guitar, design, and composition).
Let's get to the interview!
Thank you so much for this interview! First of all, Freya and Masaki, could you tell us a little about yourselves?
Freya:
I used to work in the aeronautical industry, but when the massive earthquake hit Japan, my perspective on life changed. I didn't know what would happen next, so I decided to do what I wanted to do and live a life without regrets. When I was young, I abandoned my dream of being a dancer, but now I work as a metal singer.
Masaki:
When I was a student, I started playing guitar because I admired Chisato, the guitarist of PENICILLIN. He remains my idol to this day, and the fact that he's still actively working is what motivates me to do what I do.
You originally formed in 2019 as a digi-rock dance band, and have since released several singles, including your first single "Decision," your second single "Set Me Free," your third single "CAT'S EYE" (cover), your fourth single "Fly Away," and your solo song "Ikiru Hikari." How did you evolve musically toward heavy metal/power metal?
Freya:
When I was dancing and singing, the people around me and the fans would often support me and call me "big sister."
Just when I thought I could show more strength both as a character and on stage, we were offered a metal song, and at that moment I started thinking about switching to metal, which I'd always loved.
When we were filming the music video for "Praise the Lord," Masaki joined us on guitar, and later joined us, and now we're the core of the group!
What kind of response has there been to your new EP "α" released in January 2025?
Red Heels:
With digital distribution becoming the mainstream for music distribution, we were surprised by the number of people, even from abroad, who bought our CDs. Some even bought multiple copies at the venue, and we are grateful that they embraced our music and supported us.
Are you thinking of releasing a full album? If it is currently in production, will "α" be included on this new album?
Red Heels:
That's my goal. I can't announce an exact date yet, but I hope to release songs little by little.
Are there any new dates or live performances in Japan?
Red Heels:
We'll be celebrating RED HEELS ~Beginning of Antares~'s 1st Anniversary at Kichijoji CRESCENEDO on Saturday, July 19th. It will be our first anniversary concert. On that day, we'll be featuring our support act, who will be performing with a special lineup. We play between two and five concerts a month, mostly in Tokyo, so we'd love for you to check out our official social media channels.

Are you planning to release a new video?
Red Heels:
We can't officially announce this yet, but we hope to release a new music video when we release a single in the future.

¡Esta vez tuvimos la gran oportunidad de entrevistar a una banda japonesa de heavy metal melódico! RED HEELS es un dúo formado por Freya (voz, artista y bailarina) y Masaki (guitarra, diseño y composición).
¡Vamos con la entrevista!
¡Muchas gracias por esta entrevista! Antes que nada, Freya y Masaki, ¿podrían contarnos un poco sobre ustedes?
Freya:
Solía trabajar en la industria aeronáutica, pero cuando ocurrió el gran terremoto en Japón, mi perspectiva de la vida cambió. No sabía qué iba a pasar, así que decidí hacer lo que quería para vivir una vida sin remordimientos. De joven, abandoné mi sueño de ser bailarina, pero ahora trabajo como cantante de metal.
Masaki:
Cuando era estudiante, empecé a tocar la guitarra porque admiraba a Chisato, el guitarrista de PENICILLIN.
Sigue siendo mi ídolo hasta el día de hoy, y el hecho de que siga trabajando activamente es lo que me motiva a hacer lo que hago.
Se formaron originalmente en 2019 como una banda de dance digi-rock, y desde entonces han lanzado varios sencillos, incluyendo su primer sencillo "Decision", su segundo sencillo "Set Me Free", su tercer sencillo "CAT'S EYE" (versión), su cuarto sencillo "Fly Away" y su canción en solitario "Ikiru Hikari". ¿Cómo evolucionaron musicalmente hacia el heavy metal/power metal?
Freya:
Cuando bailaba y cantaba, la gente a mi alrededor y los fans solían apoyarme y llamarme "hermana mayor".
Justo cuando pensaba que podía mostrar más fuerza tanto como personaje como en el escenario, nos ofrecieron una canción de metal, y en ese momento empecé a pensar en cambiarme al metal, que siempre me había encantado.
Cuando grabábamos el video musical de Praise the Lord, Masaki se unió a nosotros en la guitarra, y después se unió a nosotros, ¡y ahora somos el núcleo del grupo!
¿Qué tipo de respuesta ha habido a su nuevo EP "α" lanzado en enero de 2025?
Red Heels:
Con la distribución digital convirtiéndose en la corriente principal para la distribución musical, nos sorprendió la cantidad de gente, incluso del extranjero, que compró nuestros CD. Algunos incluso compraron varias copias en el recinto, y estamos agradecidas de que hayan aceptado nuestra música y nos hayan apoyado.
¿Estás pensando en lanzar un álbum completo? Si actualmente está en producción, ¿"α" estará incluida en este nuevo álbum?
Red Heels:
Ese es mi objetivo. Aún no puedo anunciar una fecha exacta, pero espero ir lanzando canciones poco a poco.
¿Hay nuevas fechas o actuaciones en vivo en Japón?
Red Heels:
Celebraremos el 1.er Aniversario de RED HEELS ~Beginning of Antares~ en Kichijoji CRESCENEDO el sábado 19 de julio. Será nuestro primer concierto de aniversario. Ese día, contaremos con la participación de nuestros teloneros, quienes actuarán con una formación especial. Damos entre 2 y 5 conciertos al mes, principalmente en Tokio, así que nos encantaría que visitaran nuestras redes sociales oficiales.
