SAISEIGA -サイセイガ-
日本発4人組メロディック・グルーヴ・メタルバンド。
突き上げるリズム、縦横無尽で重厚なサウンド、デスヴォイスとクリーンを使い分ける変幻自在なボーカルが特徴。
結成4年にして既にフルアルバム3枚とEP1枚、ライブアルバム1枚をリリース。
2024年にインドで行われた音楽とアドベンチャーのフェス「Orange Festival」へ出演し、2日目のヘッドライナーを務める。他にもアニメ「ケンガンアシュラ」へ楽曲が起用されるなど活動の幅を広げている。
作詞作曲からアレンジ、バンド運営まで完全自主による活動を行っている。
2020年11月、Regan(Vo)、Wakkun(Gt)、Katsuki(Ba)、桐子(Ds)の4名により結成。
SAISEIGAは、現代の日本のメタルシーンで名を馳せているバンドです。
SAISEIGAは、リフの重厚さやリズムセクションの精密さだけでなく、彼らが生み出すすべてのものに浸透するエモーショナルなエネルギーが特徴です。メロディーとアグレッシブさを絶妙にバランスさせたサウンドは、堂々としたボーカルラインと揺るぎない重厚感を融合させています。

SAISEIGAバンドの2026年の目標を教えてください。
Katsuki:
健康に楽しく活動すること
Tohko:
初のワンマンツアー「黒舞台」を成功させ、楽曲制作も積極的に行いたいです。
皆さんそれぞれについて少し教えてください！
Regan:
ボーカルのReganです。北海道出身。音楽を取り込んで放出する入れ物のような怪物です。
Wakkun:
ギターのWakkunです！星空や小動物、そして食べることが好きです！
Katsuki:
東京出身。ベーシスト。作曲、アレンジ、レコーディングもしてる。好きな食べ物はラーメン。好きな酒は芋焼酎。好きなスポーツは野球とテニス。
Tohko:
ドラムの桐子です。このバンドのリーダーです。バンドをやるうえで大切にしていることは音楽制作をストップしないことと、メンバーの意見を尊重し、各自が楽しんで納得できるかたちで活動を行うことです。
皆さんの音楽的な影響を受けたものは何ですか？
Regan:
ミュージカルやヴィジュアル系と言われるジャンルのものです。
Wakkun:
ギターに触れるきっかけとなったのは、高校の時の友達がやっていて、自分もやってみようとなったことです。その時までギターからこのような歪んだ音が出ることすら知りませんでした。
Katsuki:
Dream Theater、Metallica、PANTERA、LUNA SEA、X JAPAN
Tohko：
楽曲制作においてはクラシック音楽やJ-POPの影響が強いと思います。メロディラインが美しく印象的な音楽が好きです。
皆さんの音楽的バックグラウンドについて少し教えてください。
Regan:
学習発表会だけ張り切るタイプでした。ピアノを少し習っていました。弦楽器も触りましたが手汗がひどくてすぐに諦めました。中学からバンドを組んで、歌詞もその頃から書いていました。人生の早い時期からステージに立っています。
Wakkun:
もともとは日本のアニメソングから入り、その後Rhapsody(of FIRE)を聴いて衝撃を受け、それから自分のプレイスタイルに大きな影響を与えています！
Katsuki:
俺はレコーディングエンジニアの仕事もやってるんだけど、それは音楽的バックグラウンドとして最も重要。
Tohko：
音楽を始めたきっかけはクラシックピアノと吹奏楽でした。その後ドラムを本格的に始め、バンド活動を行っていくなかでメタル音楽に出会い今に至ります。
SAISEIGAはグルーヴィーなメタルバンドですが、彼らの音楽的インスピレーションの根底にあるものは何ですか？バンド独自の音楽スタイルとはどのようなものですか？
Wakkun:
ジャンルの名の通りではありますが、重厚なグルーヴとメロディック感を両立した独自のスタイルですね。
Katsuki:
グリッドよりフィールを取ること。
Tohko:
パソコンの中だけで作らず、音を出してセッションしながら組み立てていくことで、思いもしなかったアイデアが降ってきたり、偶然面白いものが出来ると思います。
REGAN: あなたについて少し知ることができて嬉しいです!力強い声ですね！何か特別なトレーニングはされているんですか？
Regan:
元々は歩くのが好きなくらいで、トレーニングはしていませんでした。今はボイトレで基礎や体の使い方を学ぶようになりました。
REGAN影響を受けた人はいますか？お気に入りのボーカリストはいますか？
Regan:
ラーメンズの小林賢太郎さん。ドラァグクイーン。ボーカリストだとhydeさんやlynch.の葉月さんです。
TOHKO：あなたのお話も伺えて嬉しいです！非常にバランスが良く、リズミカルで、力強いドラマーですが、どのようにドラムをマスターしているのか少し教えてください。
Tohko:
ありがとうございます。今まではただ好きなようにドラムを演奏してきましたが、最近姿勢や筋肉の使い方、体の構造などにも意識を向けるようになりました。最適なフォームで長く叩き続けられることを目標にしています。
TOHKO：なぜドラムがあなたにとってそれほど重要なのでしょうか？
Tohko:
ドラムが変わると音楽そのものがガラッと変わるのが面白いところだと思います。そういったところに責任感と楽しさを感じます。もっと深くまで探求していきたいです。
WAKKUN：リードギターですね！あのキラーなリズムには欠かせないのに、なぜバンドのリズムにギターがもう1本ないのでしょうか？
Wakkun:
実はもう一本のギターは、よりグルーヴにこだわるために、レコーディングではKatsukiさんが弾いているのです！その為メンバーとしてはギターが1本になっています。
KATSUKI：リードベースですね！あなたにとってベースギターの特別な感覚は何ですか？そして、バンドの中でベースギターはどんな役割を果たしているのですか？
Katsuki:
ベースは特別なパワーのある楽器。どのパートとも最短でコンタクトする役割。
SAISEIGAバンド：このような演奏や音楽制作を続けるためのインスピレーションは、どのように得ているのでしょうか？
Katsuki:
自然に表現の欲求があるからやれていること。バンドはかっこいい、バンドはワクワクするというイメージが高校生の時から変わらない。だから無いところからそれを得ようと思ったことはない。
アルバム「THE BLACK HOLE」「NOSTALGIA」「THE SUN」の中で、あなたにとって最も重要なアルバムはどれですか？また、その理由も教えてください。
Regan:
作った後のものはあまり気にせず、とらわれず、常にまだ見ぬその先が重要な気がしてなりません。良い意味で。
Wakkun:
THE SUNですね！このアルバムから音や雰囲気がよりメタルになっていったと思うからです！ここからよりメタルらしくプレイすることに迷いはなくなりました！
Katsuki:
「THE BLACK HOLE」やっとこのメンバーで本当にやりたいことが出来たと言えるアルバム。
Tohko:
「NOSTALGIA」は今のSAISEIGAから振り返るとだいぶ明るい楽曲が多いアルバムだと思います。ちょうどパンデミックも落ち着いて、このアルバムのツアーで全国各地様々なところに行きました。HANABIやLevel5などライブ定番の曲も多く、私たちのライブの重要な柱となるような、シンプルにライブの楽しさが詰まったアルバムだと思います。
SAISEIGAバンドの2026年2枚目のデジタルシングル「SYSTEM」は素晴らしいですね！それは次のアルバムの一部ですか?
Katsuki:
俺も気に入っている。まだアルバムに入るかわからないけどそうなると良いね。
日本国内のどこかの都市でライブの予定はありますか？
Katsuki:
5月、6月にかけて『黒舞台』というワンマンツアーがあるから注目して欲しい。
Tohko:
5月16日(土)大阪、5月24日(日)東京、6月7日(日)愛知、6月21日(日)東京です。初のワンマンツアー、ぜひお越しください！
SAISEIGAバンドの北米（アメリカ、メキシコ、カナダ）での公演はいつになりますか？
Katsuki:
順調なら今年の秋にアメリカに行きたい。
他に聞き忘れたことはありますか？
Katsuki:
SAISEIGAのファンはFIGHTERという呼称で日本では定着したから、それを海外でも広めたいから覚えて欲しい。
読者やファンの皆さんに何か伝えたいことはありますか？
Regan:
私は不器用なので、音楽とライブで伝えることしかできません。いつも応援してくださるみなさんには本当に感謝しています。会場で会いましょう。
Wakkun:

SAISEIGA A four-member melodic groove metal band from Japan.
They are characterized by their driving rhythms, unrestrained and heavy sound, and versatile vocals that seamlessly switch between death growls and clean vocals.
Formed just four years ago, they have already released three full albums, one EP, and one live album.
In 2024, they performed at the "Orange Festival," a music and adventure festival held in India, headlining the second day. They have also expanded their activities by having their music used in the anime "Kengan Ashura."
They handle everything from songwriting and composition to arrangement and band management entirely independently.
Formed in November 2020 by Regan (Vo), Wakkun (Gt), Katsuki (Ba), and 桐子 (Ds), SAISEIGA is a band that has made a name for itself in the contemporary Japanese metal scene.
SAISEIGA is characterized not only by the weightiness of their riffs and the precision of their rhythm section, but also by the emotional energy that permeates everything they create. Their sound, which exquisitely balances melody and aggression, fuses a dignified vocal line with an unwavering sense of weight.

Please tell us about SAISEIGA band's goals for 2026.
Katsuki:
To be active in a healthy and enjoyable way.
Tohko:
I want to make our first solo tour, "Kurobutai," a success and also actively pursue music production.
A little bit about each of you, please!
Regan:
I'm Regan, the vocalist. I'm from Hokkaido. I'm a monster, like a vessel that absorbs and releases music.
Wakkun:
I'm Wakkun, the guitarist! I like starry skies, small animals, and eating!
Katsuki:
I'm from Tokyo. I'm the bassist. I also compose, arrange, and record. My favorite food is ramen. My favorite alcohol is sweet potato shochu. My favorite sports are baseball and tennis.
Tohko:
I'm Tohko, the drummer. I'm the leader of this band. What I value most in running a band is not stopping music production, respecting the opinions of the members, and working in a way that everyone can enjoy and be satisfied with.
What are your individual musical influences?
Regan:
It's in the genres of musicals and visual kei.
Wakkun:
I started playing guitar because a friend in high school was playing it, and I decided to try it myself. Until then, I didn't even know that guitars could produce such distorted sounds.
Katsuki:
Dream Theater, Metallica, Pantera, Luna Sea, X JAPAN
Tohko:
I think classical music and J-POP have had a strong influence on my music production. I like music with beautiful and memorable melodies.
A little bit about your musical backgrounds of every one?
Regan:
I was the type who only got enthusiastic about school presentations. I took piano lessons for a little while. I also tried string instruments, but my hands sweated so much that I gave up quickly. I formed a band in middle school and started writing lyrics around that time. I've been on stage since early in my life.
Wakkun:
I originally got into music through Japanese anime songs, then I was blown away by Rhapsody (of FIRE), and that has had a huge influence on my playing style ever since!
Katsuki:
I also work as a recording engineer, which is the most important part of my musical background.
Tohko:
My musical journey started with classical piano and wind ensemble. Later, I started playing drums seriously, and while playing in bands, I discovered metal music, which led me to where I am today.
SAISEIGA is a Groovy metal band, but what is the foundation of their musical inspiration? What is the band's unique musical style?
Wakkun:
As the genre name suggests, it's a unique style that balances heavy groove with melodic sensibilities.
Katsuki:
Taking feel over grid.
Tohko:
By not just creating on a computer, but building things up while making sounds and jamming, unexpected ideas come to you, and interesting things are created by chance.
REGAN: It's a pleasure to know a little about you! You have a powerful voice! Any special training?
Regan:
Originally, I just enjoyed walking and didn't do any training. Now, I'm learning the basics and how to use my body through vocal training.
REGAN: Who are your influences, including any favorite vocalists?
Regan:
Kentaro Kobayashi from Rahmens. A drag queen. As for vocalists, there's Hyde and Hazuki from Lynch.
TOHKO: It's also a pleasure to hear about you! A very well-rounded, rhythmic, and heavy drummer, tell us a little about how you master the drums?
Tohko:
Thank you. Up until now, I've just played the drums however I liked, but recently I've started paying attention to my posture, how I use my muscles, and the structure of my body. My goal is to be able to play for a long time with the optimal form.
TOHKO: Why is the drums such a fundamental part for you?
Tohko:
I think the interesting thing is how the music itself changes completely when the drummer changes. I feel both a sense of responsibility and enjoyment in that. I want to explore it even more deeply.
WAKKUN: The lead guitar! Essential with those killer rhythms, why isn't there another guitar in the band's musical rhythm?
Wakkun:
Actually, the other guitar is played by Katsuki during recordings, in order to focus more on the groove! That's why there's only one guitar in the band.
KATSUKI: The lead bass guitar! What's the special touch of the bass guitar for you? And what role does the bass guitar play in the band?
Katsuki:
The bass is a special instrument with unique power. Its role is to make contact with every other part as quickly as possible.
SAISEIGA band: How do you stay inspired to keep playing and creating music like this?
Katsuki:
It's something I can do because I naturally have a desire to express myself. My image of bands being cool and exciting hasn't changed since high school. So I've never thought about trying to acquire that feeling from nothing.
Through your albums THE BLACK HOLE, NOSTALGIA, and THE SUN, which is the most important album for you? And why?
Regan:
I don't really worry about or get caught up in what's been created; I always feel that what's yet to come is what's important. In a good way.
Wakkun:
THE SUN! I think our sound and atmosphere became more metal from this album onwards! From here on, I had no hesitation about playing in a more metal style!
Katsuki:
"THE BLACK HOLE" is an album where we can finally say we were able to do what we really wanted to do with this lineup.
Tohko:
Looking back at "NOSTALGIA" from the current SAISEIGA perspective, I think it's an album with a lot of bright songs. The pandemic had calmed down by then, and we went to various places all over the country on the tour for this album. There are many live staples like HANABI and Level 5, and I think it's an album that simply captures the joy of live performances, becoming an important pillar of our live shows.
SAISEIGA band's second digital single of 2026, "SYSTEM," is fantastic! Is it part of your next album?
Katsuki:
I like it too. I don't know if it'll be on the album yet, but I hope it does.
Do you have any dates scheduled for live performances in any cities in Japan?
Katsuki:
We have a solo tour called "Kurobutai" (Black Stage) coming up in May and June, so please check it out.
Tohko:
It's on May 16th (Sat) in Osaka, May 24th (Sun) in Tokyo, June 7th (Sun) in Aichi, and June 21st (Sun) in Tokyo. It's our first solo tour, so please come!
When will we see SAISEIGA band playing in North America? (US, México, and Canadá)
Katsuki:
If all goes well, I'd like to go to America this fall.
Is there anything else I might have forgotten to ask?
Katsuki:
In Japan, SAISEIGA fans are known as "FIGHTERs," so we want to spread that term overseas as well. Please remember it.

Regan:

Gracias. Hasta ahora, simplemente tocaba la batería como me gustaba, pero últimamente he empezado a prestar atención a mi postura, a cómo uso mis músculos y a la estructura de mi cuerpo. Mi objetivo es poder tocar durante mucho tiempo con la técnica óptima.
TOHKO: ¿Por qué la batería es tan fundamental para ti?
Tohko:
Creo que lo interesante es cómo la música cambia por completo cuando cambia el baterista. Siento una gran responsabilidad y, a la vez, disfruto de ello. Quiero explorarlo aún más a fondo.
WAKKUN: ¡La guitarra líder! Esencial con esos ritmos increíbles, ¿por qué no hay otra guitarra en la base musical de la banda?
Wakkun:
En realidad, la otra guitarra la toca Katsuki durante las grabaciones, para poder concentrarse más en el groove. Por eso solo hay una guitarra en la banda.
KATSUKI: ¡El bajo solista! ¿Qué tiene de especial el bajo para ti? ¿Y qué papel desempeña en la banda?
Katsuki:
El bajo es un instrumento especial con una potencia única. Su función es conectar con el resto de los instrumentos lo más rápido posible.
SAISEIGA: ¿Cómo se mantienen inspirados para seguir tocando y creando música así?
Katsuki:
Es algo que puedo hacer porque naturalmente tengo el deseo de expresarme. Mi imagen de las bandas como algo genial y emocionante no ha cambiado desde la secundaria. Así que nunca pensé en intentar adquirir esa sensación de la nada.
De sus álbumes THE BLACK HOLE, NOSTALGIA y THE SUN, ¿Cuál es el más importante para ustedes? ¿Y por qué?
Regan:
No me preocupo ni me obsesiono con lo que ya se ha creado; siempre siento que lo importante es lo que está por venir. En el buen sentido.
Wakkun:
¡THE SUN! ¡Creo que nuestro sonido y atmósfera se volvieron más metaleros a partir de este álbum! ¡Desde entonces, no tuve ninguna duda en tocar con un estilo más metalero!
Katsuki:
"THE BLACK HOLE" es un álbum donde finalmente podemos decir que pudimos hacer lo que realmente queríamos hacer con esta formación.
Tohko:
Mirando hacia atrás a "NOSTALGIA" desde la perspectiva actual de SAISEIGA, creo que es un álbum con muchas canciones alegres. La pandemia ya se había calmado para entonces, y recorrimos varios lugares del país en la gira de este álbum. Hay muchos temas que son imprescindibles en nuestros conciertos, como HANABI y Level 5, y creo que es un álbum que simplemente captura la alegría de las presentaciones en vivo, convirtiéndose en un pilar importante de nuestros shows en vivo.
El segundo sencillo digital de la banda SAISEIGA en 2026, "SYSTEM", ¡es fantástico!

Katsuki:

Tenemos una gira en solitario llamada "Kurobutai" (Escenario Negro) en mayo y junio, así que no se la pierdan.

Será el 16 de mayo (sábado) en Osaka, el 24 de mayo (domingo) en Tokio, el 7 de junio (domingo) en Aichi y el 21 de junio (domingo) en Tokio. Es nuestra primera gira en solitario, ¡así que vengan!
¿Cuándo veremos a la banda SAISEIGA tocar en Norteamérica? (EE. UU., México y Canadá)

Si todo sale bien, me gustaría ir a Estados Unidos este otoño.
